Meet Andy Sutton, CEO
Andy Sutton spent over a decade in the NHL, suiting up as a defenseman known for his size, grit, and leadership in the locker room. He understands what it takes to build a team, hold people accountable, and win the moments that matter.
After hanging up his skates, Andy turned that same drive toward a problem he saw up close as a player and a parent: hockey and sports associations were being run on spreadsheets, group chats, and duct tape. He founded Unify to give organizations one place to manage teams, schedules, parents, and communication.
Today, as CEO, Andy leads Unify with the belief that great association software should feel as coordinated as a well-drilled team. His passion is simple — give volunteers, coaches, and administrators the tools to spend less time on logistics and more time growing the game.
From the Ice to the Boardroom
Andy Sutton spent more than a decade in the NHL, playing over 600 games as a defenseman for teams across the league. On the ice, he learned that no play succeeds alone — every shift depended on trust, preparation, and knowing your teammates had your back.
That mindset never left him. The discipline of showing up ready, the accountability of owning a mistake, and the drive to keep improving became the foundation of how he leads.
At Unify, Andy brings the locker room to the boardroom. He builds teams the way great lines are built — around chemistry, communication, and a shared commitment to winning together. For Andy, leadership is about setting the pace, backing your people, and never asking anyone to work harder than you do yourself.
